Acuity Brands, Inc – Engineering and Technology Center

When Acuity Brands, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of innovative lighting systems, decided to retrofit of an existing 167,000 s.f. facility in Conyers, GA, the transformation of the building included a new facade. To affect a modern exterior with a look and feel that would be in keeping with the cutting edge work environment being created within the reclaimed building, Acuity turned to Peachtree Protective Covers and Centria’s Intercept Modular Panel system. To help put the finishing touches on the the facelift, the design team added a modern and sleek “light portal” at the main entrance.

Metal Wall Panel – 13,400 s.f.

The entrance of the building is built around a stand alone “light portal” that is clad with Intercept aluminum panels in a silversmith finish. The light portal is designed with various openings, allowing for interesting and changing rays of light and shadow throughout the day. The exterior facade was re-clad with the Intercept wall panels in a gray velvet metallic finish.
